Job Overview:
The Rowley Police Department is looking to fill full-time patrol officer position. The agency is growing and investing in the future. We are seeking motivated, professional, and community-focused officers who want to be part of a positive culture and a supportive team.
Rowley is a growing suburban community of 6300 residents on the seacoast, 32 miles north of Boston and along Routes 1 and 95.
Responsibilities:
Patrol Officers are responsible for routine patrol, community policing, traffic regulation, basic investigations and related law enforcement activities. Specialty positions and assignments are available.
Requirements:
- Be a US citizen
- Must be 21 years o f age at time of application
- High School Diploma, Associates Degree or higher in law enforcement related field preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Possess or able to obtain MA License to Carry Firearm
- Must be: a) a certified graduate from the full-time MPTC Recruit Academy, or able t o obtain the MPTC exemption (out of state applicants), with current certificates of training mandated by Massachusetts General Law, or b ) have Bridge Exemption from the Certification Standard Requiring Completion o f an MPTC Approved Recruit Officer Course, with current certificates of training mandated b y Massachusetts General Law, or c) be eligible to attend the full-time MPTC Recruit Academy and to obtain the current certificates of training mandated b y the Massachusetts General Laws.
- Applicants must be able to be certified as full-time officer by POST commission
- Out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply. The department will assist qualified applicants in obtaining a Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (MPTC) certification waiver.
- Capable o f passing Physical Agility Test and full medical examination
- Tobacco free as mandated by MGL 40-101A
- Full-time academy trained applicants with prior law enforcement o r military experience will be given preference (including out of state certified officers).
