What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial Worker I position at Town of Riverhead?
The Town of Riverhead is looking to add a Custodian to the shift of 2pm-10:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Perform industrial cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Use appropriate equipment to clean and polish floors
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly47
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and windowsills
- Sweep, Vaccuum and mop floors in designated areas
- Replenish supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as required
- Move items delivered from vendors to designated areas
-Moves department furniture and equipment from place to place as directed by Department Head
Experience:
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time
