Duties
- Manage utility billing processes, including data entry, account reconciliation, and payment processing
- Prepare journal entries, perform bank reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger to support accurate financial reporting
- Maintain organized spreadsheets for budgeting, account analysis, and financial report writing to facilitate transparent financial management
- Conduct account reconciliation activities including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure data accuracy
- Provide administrative support such as data entry (including 10-key typing), filing, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with correspondenceExperience
- Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting systems such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage or similar financial software is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation
- Experience working with governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required
- Strong understanding of financial concepts such as account reconciliation, budget management, and financial report writing
- Proven ability to handle accounts payable/receivable processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Familiarity with payroll processing procedures and tax compliance requirements is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
