Position Title- Seasonal Laborer
Department of Public Works -Grounds Maintenance/Parks
24-40 hours/ week – April-August
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of semi- skilled tasks maintaining the cemeteries, grounds and buildings throughout the Town of Palmer and assists in all DPW work as necessary.
*Operation of mowers, trimmers, vehicles, and other equipment in the daily care and general upkeep of cemeteries, parks, athletic fields, maintenance of town owned buildings, including the schools
*Clean restrooms and pick up litter around parks, fields, tennis courts, etc.
*Maintenance of buildings.
*Assist in the maintenance of equipment
*Able to use powered hand tools
*Perform manual labor included moving of Town’s equipment, office furniture, voting booths, etc.
*Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to working with storm water personnel in the identification, mapping and description of outfalls, swales, manholes, etc. pertaining to the town’s new storm water permit. May include assisting the Highway and/or Cemetery department at times.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid Ma. Driver’s license and have a High School Diploma/GED
This is a seasonal position working 3-5, 8 hour shifts a week. 24-40 hours / week, non-benefitted position.
Salary is $15/hour
