What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Superintendent position at Town of Orange?
The Town of Orange is looking for a Superintendent for the Water Department. The Superintendent shall perform all Department duties in accordance with all general and special laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Town bylaws, and the rules and regulations of the Department. In addition, the Superintendent shall represent the Department in a professional manner and dress accordingly in all matters in which the Department is required or requested to appear. The position of Superintendent is considered a managerial and confidential position. The duties, subject to all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, shall be the supervision of the daily operation of the Department and all Department personnel, and have the ability to fill in as necessary.
Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid class D driver’s license, valid full status MA Grade 2D and Grade 1T drinking water operator licenses upon hire. Must be able to respond to departmental emergencies/repairs when necessary within less than 1 hour of notification. Must possess, or acquire MA cross-connection tester/surveyor certification within 1 year, subject to the availability of required classes and exams. Possession of a Class IIB hoisting license for backhoe/ loader is a plus.
