JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Community Service Officer (CSO) is an entry-level position for individuals looking to support law enforcement operations in Ogunquit's busy summertime community. Tasks include enforcing the ordinances of the Town of Ogunquit, patrolling Ogunquit Beach & facilities, Perkins Cove and downtown Ogunquit, parking enforcement, issuing citations when necessary, directing traffic, responding to general assistance calls, assisting full-time and part-time law enforcement personnel in day-to-day activities and investigations, providing support to full-time firefighter and EMS personnel, and engaging in positive community relation practices. Ogunquit hosts one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, a vibrant inclusive community, busy nightlife, and a team of dedicated Officers who are proud to serve this wonderful community. The Ogunquit Police Department also boasts a proud history of helping new candidates reach their full potential and achieve their law enforcement life goals. Successful candidates for this position will be able to get along with others professionally while performing all duties required for the position.
Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour. (Paid Internships available)
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Age: 18 years old
Experience: Customer service experience and/or prior law enforcement experience a plus.
Physical: Must be able to stay on your feet for long periods of time.
Additional: No adult criminal history. Must be willing to work days, occasional evening shifts, occasional weekends & holidays. Schedules may be flexible to work with the candidate's other required engagements. The successful candidate will be able to get along with others in a professional manner while performing all duties required for the position.
