1. Public Works Director / Superintendent
- Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week, includes evening board meetings and emergency call-outs)
- Experience Level: 10 years of infrastructure experience (with 4 years in a supervisory role)
The Role:
Are you a "hands-on" leader with a passion for community building? Reporting directly to the Town Manager, you will provide strategic oversight and practical operational involvement for all transportation, water, sewer, fleet, and capital improvements. You will manage a department budget, lead a newly restructured team, and ensure strict compliance with CIRSA, OSHA, EPA, and CDPHE regulations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s in Public Admin or Engineering preferred).
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and a CDL-B License.
- Must possess—or obtain within one year—a Small Systems Wastewater license and a Class 1 Distribution license.
- Strong computer literacy and tactical public communication skills.
2. Public Works Level II (PWII)
- Job Type: Full-time (Includes weekend on-call rotation and emergency call-outs)
- Experience Level: Previous public works maintenance experience with leadership/mentoring skills.
The Role:
Looking for a stable career with room for technical advancement? Under the direction of the Director, you will perform advanced maintenance duties and act as the field crew lead worker. You will oversee project sites, guide Level I and seasonal staff, conduct daily analytical/chemical testing at water plants, and step up to provide department oversight in the Director's absence.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required (CDL-B preferred).
- Must obtain a water distribution license within one year of completing probation.
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment (backhoe, loader, snowplow) and lift up to 80 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in demanding high-desert weather conditions.
3. Public Works Level I (PWI)
- Job Type: Full-time (Includes scheduled weekend/after-hours emergency rotations)
- Experience Level: Entry-level (Prior construction, landscaping, or manual labor is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate!)
The Role:
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to build a long-term, stable career. Working closely with the Level II team under the Director's supervision, you will perform hands-on, semi-skilled labor. Duties include repairing water lines, installing meters, maintaining system filters, handling snow removal, and performing landscaping across town parks and public spaces.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle operations and general tools.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work outdoors in seasonal high-desert weather.
