The Morse Institute Library is accepting applications for a Technical Services Assistant position. The Library is a library with strong community support in the town of Natick.
The successful candidate will have a strong customer service background with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, and possess the ability to work well in a team environment. Previous library experience and knowledge of Sierra ILS software is preferred but not required.
The candidate will help to process all print and other library materials, including cataloging, reconciliation, and OCLC end processing of materials; and create brief records as needed for item processing. They may perform data processing as needed for collection development and maintenance, use automated network systems as required; and respond to patron inquiries and staff requests for new library materials. The candidate will be attentive to detail, as they will help to verify invoices for accuracy and completeness, and report discrepancies to supervisors and vendors as appropriate.
The Technical Services Assistant must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent, and have at least one year of customer service with demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

This is a full-time, benefited position at 37.5 hours per week. This position starts at $23.41 per hour (Step 1), with a full pay range of $23.41- $28.1073 per hour in annual step increases in accordance with the union agreement.
