PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE
The Town of Milbridge is seeking candidates for the Public Works Department. This is a full time position; pay starts at $18.00 per hour with a $17K plus equivalent benefit package. This position could also be part time depending on the applicant. Pay would be addressed upon submitting the application. The responsibilities include but not limited to all winter and summer road maintenance, nights, weekends, and holidays. The job includes operating town equipment, manual labor, hand tools, power equipment, minor maintenance of vehicles, helping with curbside trash pickup, working with sewer department, or related duties as assigned. The position requires moderate physical effort involving long periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, and occasional lifting of objects up to 80 lbs. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various types of weather conditions, temperatures, and capable of working a long duration of hours. The successful candidate must possess a valid Class II Maine motor vehicle operator’s license; must pass drug and alcohol screening tests, which are performed before hiring and randomly during employment.
