This position involves performing manual work in the fabrication, assembly, installation and repair of road, highway, traffic and information signs. Employees in this classification operate stenciling machinery, computers and associated equipment in the preparation of signage. Position operates various light equipment in the transportation and placement of signage. Employee is distinguished from that of the entry level position by knowledge and proficiency gained through training and experience.

Must obtain Basic Work Zone Traffic Control Certification within 6 months of hire. Class “B” Commercial Driver's License. Must obtain Fork Lift Certification within 6 months of hire.- Minimum of three (3) years of communications technician experience for consideration for employment as Sign Technician II.
- Minimum of five (5) years of communication technician experience for consideration for employment as Sign Technician III.
