What are the responsibilities and job description for the Zoning and PZC/BOA Assistant position at Town of Lakewood?
Job Overview:
Through direction, supervision, coordination, and collaboration with the
Zoning Administrator and PZC/BOA Chair, the Zoning and PZC/BOA Assistant is responsible
for organizing office activity and assisting the public for Zoning related functions.
Duties:·
- Assist the Zoning Administrator and PZC/BOA in Town of Lakewood Zoning matters.
- Assist public (at counter, in person and on phone or via email) regarding planning, zoning and township land use matters.
- Assist the Zoning Administrator and PZC/BOA in maintaining and improving office filing systems and organization.
- Assist the Zoning Administrator and PZC/BOA in maintaining files for Township activity.
- Manage cash receipts and assist the Zoning Administrator in recordkeeping of permit fees for the Zoning Office. Prepare and submit funds at least weekly to the Town Clerk/Treasurer.
- Maintain conditional use, variance, subdivision, site plan and application files, including email correspondence.
- Work in collaboration with the Clerk and as requested by Zoning Administrator for the PZC/BOA Public Hearing scheduling, preparation and follow up.
- Work in collaboration with the Clerk to publish and/or post required notices in legal timeframe and keep on file all affidavits.
- Assist the PZC/BOA with recording meeting minutes from all regular monthly meetings and public hearings and present meeting minutes monthly to PZC/BOA for approval.
- Assist with updating town website for Zoning and PZC/BOA related items.
- Draft and mail correspondence.
- Maintain Township Road list with road length.
- Work as a member of the Township Team including Clerk and Treasurer.
- Other duties as may be necessary to assist the Zoning Administrator and PZC/BOA in operations and compliance.
Working Conditions:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: standing, walking, sitting for significant periods of time, and working on a computer. The majority of this position is performed indoors as an office position. The physical demands, work environment factors and related functions described in this job description are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Hours: Up to 15-20 hours per week and may include both day and occasional evening hours.
Compensation: Hourly pay
Pay: $18.52 - $19.08 per hour
