Skilled manual labor position performing repairs and maintenance on utilities collection and distribution systems.Read, replace, clean and test water meters and water meter boxes.
Assist in repair and maintenance of all aspects of the water, sewer, and reuse systems.
Repair of utility lines and inspecting new construction.
Responsible for completing daily work orders.
Operate light to heavy equipment to include front-end loader/backhoe, dump truck, and power tools, as needed.
Diagnose issues and perform minor repairs, maintenance and service equipment.
Maintains log of daily operations and activities.
Assist other utilities staff as needed or as directed by supervisor.
Requires shift work, holiday work, weekend work, natural disaster response, and on-call duties when needed.

Licenses, Certifications Or Registrations

- Basic knowledge of field service repairs, repair parts, lift station operations, knowledge of tools and equipment; ability to perform some equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work well with others, professionally and effectively communicates well with office staff and customers to assist in all phases of utilities, water and sewer operations.
- General computer operating skills (typing correspondence, email, and memorandums).
- Ability to use hand tools, possess some mechanical skills, ability to operate equipment, and perform accurate meter reading.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalency.
- At least, one (1) year or more experience in the utilities operations field.
- Experience in operation of small equipment and some equipment maintenance experience.
Licenses, Certifications Or Registrations
- Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License.
- Prefer Class “C” distribution Certificate issued by the State of Florida
