POSITION OBJECTIVES: Under the general direction of the Town Manager and Public Works Director, performs a wide variety of administrative duties of a highly responsible, professional nature in a detail-oriented environment. Provides research, data collection, public communications, technical support, and other activities. Participates as a team member on professional planning projects. Researches, evaluates, verifies, and presents background information and data. Prepares and monitors statistical tabulations, computations, charts, reports, and graphs to illustrate planning studies in areas such as population, transportation, housing, traffic, land use, zoning, historic preservation, proposed subdivisions, and public utilities. May prepare communication products such as public involvement plans, presentations, workshop/public meeting coordination, major document production, displays and newspaper inserts and ads. May coordinate development review application processing and distribution of requests. Manages and coordinates community events.
General Duties – are included but not limited to:
Receives and accepts site plans for new residential and commercial developments.
Accepts petitions for rezoning, annexations, street, or easement vacancies and conditional uses.
Prepare notices for delivery to adjacent property owners to apprise of proposed or pending actions.
Assures that proper legal documents are recorded with the county related to subdivision plats, annexation plats, and all ordinances pertaining to waivers, abandonments, street changes/vacates, etc.
Must be knowledgeable on town maps and zoning regulations of town related items.
Distributes copies of plats to utilities.
Collects recording fees.
Oversee zoning enforcement functions and interpret zoning ordinances.
Coordinates with developers related to project proposals, subdivision proposals, temporary use permit etc.
Assists with coordinating and attends Planning Commission meetings and Development Review Team meetings. Take minutes, transcribes, and produces permanent records.
Prepares meeting packets, including compiling information and documentation.
Performs administrative duties as requested.
Assists with reception duties when needed.
Event Coordinator:
Coordinate Town activities and annual events sponsored by the Town.
Manage budget with goal to remain within the approved budget.
Keep detailed records of events and accounting.
Act as liaison between board appointed committee and Town.
Follow direction of committee.
Establish and retain relationships with community organizations, citizens, schools, and other entities to partner with.
Other Duties:
Any other duties as assigned by the Town Manager and Public Works Director. Prepares correspondence and or reports as directed.
Qualifications:
Must have a legal authorization to work in the United States of America. Valid Colorado Driver's License. Must be able to pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be able to operate office equipment such as computer, typewriter, copy machine, calculator, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and proper punctuation.
Ability to perform clerical duties and handle clerical detail.
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with other employees and the public.
Environmental Conditions:
Work is generally performed in an office environment.

Other Unique Requirements:
A flexible schedule may be required to fulfill organizational needs including attending committee meetings, Planning Commission meetings, or occasional weekend work related to Town sponsored events.
Education/Experience:
Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning, public administration or a closely related field is desired. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
Minimum of two years of clerical experience with Municipal knowledge desired.
Experience with Municipal Planning and Zoning desired.
