Public Works Supervisor / Highway Foreman
The Town of Johnson is currently seeking a qualified hands-on leader for a full-time Public Works Supervisor/Highway Foreman. Successful candidates must be a team leader and demonstrate an eagerness to develop their professional skills and apply current best practices. The routine duties of the position include personnel management, employee and contractor oversight, safety oversight, detailed record keeping, budget development, highway and bridge maintenance, equipment operation and maintenance, and any other tasks assigned by the Town Administrator. The successful candidate must also be able to schedule, plan and complete projects and be able to work within the public works budget. They also must be able to work with the public and be able to communicate effectively.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S., at least 18 years of age, and they must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (with at least a Class B endorsement).
Applicant must be able to perform the duties of the position. This includes operating heavy equipment in all weather conditions, following all appropriate safety procedures, working outdoors, and performing a variety of physically demanding tasks.
