The Town of Jackson is now accepting applications for the key position of Citizen Services Specialist. We are seeking a friendly, capable, and responsible community member to join our customer service team at the front desk of Town Hall and serve as the first point of contact for Town government services. The primary duties for this position include front desk greeting, reception, directing customers, and main phone line reception. Additional duties and responsibilities include processing payments and issuing receipts; processing business and ground transportation license applications; sorting mail, and notarizing documents. • Extraordinary customer service skills.
• Positive and helpful demeanor.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience working as a receptionist, office clerk, bank teller or similar position.
• Ability to learn and utilize permit processing software.
• Confidence in processing and issuing receipts.
• Ability to thrive and work effectively and professionally in a front desk environment with frequent interactions with visitors and citizens both in person and on the phone.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Notary Public (or ability to obtain).
• Complete Spanish fluency.
  
  

In order to be eligible for Town of Jackson benefits, employees must be regularly scheduled for 30 hrs/wk. The Town is also willing to consider flexibility in filling this position with alternatives at $28.84/hour including: job sharing for this position with 2 variable hour employees working 20 hrs/wk without benefits; 2 people with one working 30 hours/week with benefits and 1 variable hour employee working 10 hrs/wk without benefits; or any type of similar combination. The Town of Jackson offers a monthly stipend for complete Spanish fluency of $400/mo in addition to regular wages. The maximum monthly Spanish fluency stipend for variable hour employees is $200/month.
