Are you a visionary in the world of communications? The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking a Communications & Marketing Director to lead our dynamic Communications & Marketing Department. In this pivotal role, you will guide strategic communications and marketing efforts that promote the Town’s services, initiatives, and projects. You will serve as the chief spokesperson, shaping and delivering our message across multiple platforms to ensure it is clear, consistent, and impactful.
This role works in close partnership with the Town Manager and the Executive Team, requiring strong alignment, sound judgment, and the ability to translate leadership priorities into effective communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of communications professionals, including a Communications Manager, Marketing and Brand Manager, Communications Specialist, and part time Social Media Specialist
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and high performance within the team
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Communications Plan that aligns with Town goals and strengthens community engagement
- Serve as the primary Public Information Officer and maintain strong media relationships
- Manage partnerships and contractual relationships with external organizations, including the Destination Marketing Organization
- Oversee the development of press releases, social media content, and other key communications materials
