Operates a variety of construction equipment and trucks utilized in construction, maintenance and repair activities; performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of sanitary and storm sewer systems.

The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.Maintain all aspects of the wastewater collection system and to comply with state, federal and local requirements.Operates trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials and supplies.Operates construction or power equipment, such as flusher, back-hoe, dump truck, air compressor, jack hammer, asphalt roller, sand spreader, trencher and tapping machine.Operates other small equipment and tools to maintain sanitary and storm sewer systems. Works with and assists in hoisting material, tools, equipment and any related work.Maintain daily work records.Excavates in streets, alleys and easements both mechanically and manually for repair and installation of utilities.Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor; cleans equipment.Performs on-call duties to respond to requests for services after normal work hours and weekends.Works overtime when necessary, available and responds to after-hour emergencies and call outs when requested.Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Assists other departments as required.Perform other duties as required.
