What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Dispatcher (Seasonal) position at Town of Hampton, NH?
The Communication Specialist performs highly responsible and specialized communications work. They receive all incoming communications to the department, processes the information and takes any necessary action. They dispatch police to emergency and non-emergency calls for service and direct communication/messages to the appropriate authorities and personnel.
The Communication Specialist has primary responsibility for the initial deployment of public safety personnel and equipment subject to the provisions of written directives. The Communication Specialist works under the general supervision of the assigned shift Sergeant/Supervisor during their work period and reports directly to the Deputy chief of Administrative services according to the Table of Organization.
The Communication Specialist works under the general supervision of the assigned shift Sergeant/Supervisor during their work period and reports directly to the Communications Specialist Supervisor, who falls under the Operations Bureau.
Shift work – up to 28 hours per week. Shifts are 8 hours and include 10a–6p & 6p-2a
High School Diploma or equivalent
Candidates must pass all the following: Interview, polygraph examination, psychology examination, Drug & Alcohol screening, full background investigation
