The Storm Water Utility Worker I & II reports to the Stormwater Utility Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Performs the proper construction, maintenance, and repair techniques and procedures for work associated with the stormwater infrastructure.
- Monitor stormwater pollutants at the different outfall locations.
- Assist with oversight of CCTV operations.
- Cleans and repairs storm mains, catch basins, drywells, bubbler boxes, scuppers, and storm pump stations.
- Maintains and repairs irrigation ditches, underground distribution lines, gates, valves, roadways, and retention basins.

Anticipated Recruiting Timeline:

CANDIDATES FOR A STORMWATER UTILITY WORKER I must possess the following requirements and qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in stormwater, wastewater, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in stormwater or wastewater operation, including maintenance practices or working knowledge of stormwater or wastewater collection, maintenance, operation, and general construction.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker Endorsement within 6 months of hire.
- ADEQ Grade I Wastewater Collections Certification within 1 year of hire
- MS4 Compliance & Code Enforcement within 1 year of hire
- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Certification (40-Hour HAZWOPER) (preferred) within a year of hire
CANDIDATES FOR A STORMWATER UTILITY WORKER II must possess the following requirements and qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in stormwater, wastewater, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in stormwater or wastewater operation, including maintenance practices or working knowledge of stormwater or wastewater collection, maintenance, operation, and general construction.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker Endorsement at the time of hire.
- ADEQ Grade I Wastewater Collections Certification at the time of hire or 3 to 5 years of operating a combination cleaner
- MS4 Compliance & Code Enforcement within 1 year of hire
- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Certification (40-Hour HAZWOPER) within a year of hire
