This non-exempt position teaches the general public to cross country ski and assists in the rental and ski instruction aspects of the Frisco Nordic Center operation. Nordic ski instructors must have the ability to teach cross-country skiing, both classic and skating technique. This position would also involve general Nordic area responsibilities such as selling lessons, providing customer service, supporting Frisco Nordic Center events, shoveling snow and providing ski service. Applicants must provide exceptional customer service at all times, work well under pressure, follow strict policies and procedures, work as a team, and help foster a positive, fun and safe working environment.
Desired start date: 11/17/2025 & estimated end-of-season date: 4/6/2026
The Nordic Center operates 7 days a week in winter from 9AM-4PM. The tentative opening date is on Thanksgiving (snow pending) and closes on April 5, 2026. Working holidays & some weekends is required.
Responsibilities
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Computer Operations: Microsoft Word and Excel and Point of sale booking systems preferred
Licenses, Certifications or Accreditations: PSIA Certification preferred, USSA Coaches Certification preferred and CPR/AED & First Aid Certification required and will be provided by the Town
Previous Work Experience: Two years of Nordic ski instruction and experience in ski rental operation required
Previous Supervisory Exercised: One year in similar environment preferred
Language Ability: Ability to communicate verbally and written in English is required
Other: Ability to multitask and feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, high alpine, outdoor environment is preferred

Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional guest service to all Frisco Nordic Center guests by giving appropriate information, directions and conducts all transactions with a smile, eye contact and clear communication.
- Participate in Frisco Nordic Center in house ski instructor training and rental process; must implement established processes for both instruction and management of rental inventory.
- Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding all Frisco Nordic Center, Adventure Park and Recreation Department programs, events, facilities and services.
- Assist guests with check out and check in of rental equipment.
- Teach classic and skating lessons from beginner to intermediate levels.
- Assist as assigned with the maintenance of all rental equipment. Basic ski shop repairs and binding mounting.
- Assist with facility cleaning and maintenance.
- Embrace and promote all facets of the Frisco Nordic Center and the Town of Frisco guiding principles: vision, mission, service guidelines, and values.
- Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Frisco Nordic Center's, amenities, programs and events.
- Informs guests of Nordic Center safety practices, operating rules and regulations and help to enforce these rules as necessary.
- Interacts with and maintains professional attitudes and relationships with guests, co-workers and management in a positive, professional manner at all times using appropriate language and conversations.
- Communicates as appropriate with other staff and supervisor about concerns or when assistance is needed.
- Be an ambassador of Frisco Nordic Center inside and outside of work.
- Ensures the Nordic Center facility indoor and outdoor is clean, well-maintained, and that rental items are displayed in a neat manner.
- Communicates in a timely and professional manner with citizens, visitors, and Town of Frisco staff.
- Adheres to all Town of Frisco and Recreation Department policies and procedures.
- Works in a team-based environment supporting the Nordic Center and Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Nordic Manager and Programs Manager.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
