What are the responsibilities and job description for the BUILDING AND FACILITIES SERVICE TECHNICIAN position at Town of Easton?
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of work in the general maintenance of buildings and equipment at various facilities/sites. Rough and finished carpentry work in construction and repair of walls, doors, and window frames. Have a HVAC experience is desirable to include performing minor troubleshooting, changes filters on heating, ventilation and air conditioning units. Moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites. Clears sidewalks at main facility during inclement weather. Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work sites.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic rough and finished carpentry work in construction and repair of walls, doors, window frames, office furniture and shelves.
- Basic electrical installation and repair in wiring of switches, outlets, plugs and cables, repairs lighting inspects electrical for unsafe conditions.
- Basic plumbing repairs of leaks or breaks, open clogged lines and drains.
- Basic painting on various surfaces.
- Must be able to work outside during various weather conditions.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Two years’ experience of general trades services, maintenance and or janitorial experience preferably in a facility setting.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical wiring.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically able to inspect building and facility sites including walking properties with above grade requiring balance, climbing ladders, crawling under structures able to step up and step down on uneven surfaces and, kneeling.
Must be able to carry various equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
