Pine Knoll Jr. Camp Counselor Non-Union, Non- Exempt, Up to 40 hours per
week, June - August Hourly Range: \$15.00 - \$16.00 Department:
Recreation General Description: The Pine Knoll Junior Counselor is a
supportive and enthusiastic team member responsible for assisting
Counselors & Head Counselors in supervising and engaging campers (ages
3-12) in a dynamic day camp environment. This entry-level position is
ideal for individuals eager to gain leadership and youth development
experience while ensuring campers have a fun, safe, and memorable
summer. Primary Essential Functions: The essential functions or duties
listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various type of
work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of
duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar,
related, or a logical assignment to the position. Assist Counselors in
supervising campers during daily activities, and transitions Engage
campers in games, crafts, sports, and special events Serve as a positive
role model by demonstrating respect, responsibility, and teamwork Help
set up and clean up activity areas and camp spaces Participate in daily
staff meetings and training sessions Foster an inclusive, supportive,
and energetic camp atmosphere Communicate positively with campers,
parents, and staff Respond appropriately to camper needs and assist with
basic first aid as directed Knowledge, Ability, and Skills: Must have
the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities which
include, but are not limited to, hiking, swimming, team building
Initiatives, Physical Games, And Activities. Experience And Training
Must be 15 years of age or older Enthusiastic, dependable, and patient
with children Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to
learn, take initiative, and follow instructions Previous camp or
Babysitting Experience Is Required Ability To Work Outdoors And
