Office Assistant - Ordinance Enforcement
Town of East Hampton - Part Time Office Assistant - Ordinance Enforcement Department
This position is 20 hours per week, year-round.
An employee in this position is responsible for supporting office operations and must demonstrate a high level of customer service and professionalism when dealing with members of the community and other employees.
Duties Include
Some knowledge of office terminology, procedures, equipment and clerical techniques; some knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; skill in typing accurately; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to learn assigned tasks and to adhere to prescribed departmental routines; ability to make arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and with a reasonable rate of speed; ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications are graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
Special Requirements
Candidates must complete a civil service application for submission to and review by the Suffolk County Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service. The Town of East Hampton complies with the rules and regulations as set forth by the Suffolk County Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service.

- Answering phones, emails, filing and faxing.
- Entering data and scanning/creating and controlling all files.
- Entering, filing and recording Code reports and form.
- Communicating information to Ordinance Inspectors, Code Enforcement Officers and Animal Control Officers
