What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Officer position at TOWN OF DAUPHIN ISLAND?
The Town of Dauphin Island Police Department is currently accepting applications for the positions of both full-time and part-time police officer. We are seeking dedicated, community-oriented individuals who are committed to public safety and upholding the law with integrity and professionalism.
Minimum Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Valid Alabama driver’s license and be insurable on the Town’s insurance. * Current Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) certification. * No prior felony or domestic violence convictions. * Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, psychological exam, and physical exam. The Town of Dauphin Island performs random drug screens on all employees. * Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: * Prior law enforcement or military experience. * Familiarity with small-town or coastal community policing. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills (required).
