The Town of Danvers welcomes applications for the full-time benefited position of Material Manager with the DPW Business Division. The Material Manager position performs a variety of responsible duties, including procurement for the DPW & Electric Division, and electric division materials management/warehouse oversight. This requires considerable attention to detail, accuracy, and the exercising of good judgement in carrying out operations with limited guidance and direction. May be exposed to all aspects of the Business Division but may be assigned to specific functional areas determined by the DPW Business Manager.
The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteerism, education, and transferable skills. Associate’s degree in accounting, Business or related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, Massachusetts Certified Procurement and Purchasing Officer designation preferred, or the ability to obtain such designation within two (2) to three (3) years, Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, materials management, inventory warehousing preferred. Advanced understanding of computers, including inventory and financial accounting software and Microsoft Office required and Valid driver’s license.
This position works 35 hours per week. Monday-Wednesday 8am-4pm, Thursday 8am-7pm and Friday 8am-12pm. This is a Union Position (Grade 16) pay scale starting at $38.74/hourly with the ability to move through scale (via step system) to the max step at $50.62/hourly. Hiring rate DOQ. Excellent benefits.
