What You’ll Do

As the Confidential Executive Assistant, you’ll be the organizational heartbeat of the Town Manager’s Office—ensuring daily operations run seamlessly, supporting major projects, and serving as a trusted point of contact for residents, staff, board members, and partner agencies.

Your Work Will Include

  • Providing exceptional customer service and acting as the first point of contact for the office
  • Managing complex calendars, meetings, agendas, and logistics
  • Preparing Select Board materials, legal notices, packets, and meeting minutes
  • Supporting Town Meeting preparations and helping maintain accurate board/committee records
  • Handling confidential communication with discretion and sound judgment
  • Managing office systems, records, budgets, retention schedules, and special projects
  • Updating Town website content and coordinating office-wide communications
  • Using your own judgment, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills to help facilitate the smooth operations of local government

An Ideal Candidate Brings

  • We welcome candidates with a variety of backgrounds. The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, education, volunteerism, and transferable skills.
  • An associate degree and 5–7 years of administrative or office support experience (municipal experience is not required)
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Comfort working with Microsoft Office; Munis experience is a bonus
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • A knack for managing details, systems, and competing deadlines
  • A valid driver’s license

Hours And Compensation

  • 35 hours/week
  • Monday–Wednesday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; Thursday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM: Friday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • Non-union, Grade 12. Salary starts at $74,419.80, with step progression to $92,280.24, hiring rate DOQ
  • Excellent benefits: health, dental, vision, pension system, Town match to 457 plan, municipal retirement plan, and generous paid time off
