This role is a key member of the accounting team, providing guidance and training to other team members. This position is responsible for maintaining the Town’ accounting system and procedures. The ideal candidate would have experience with payroll and implementation of pay related to the collective bargaining agreements. Additionally, the Town has begun to undertake the transition from Admins to Munis. The ideal Assistant Town Accountant would have experience with Munis and will be a lead in this transition process. The person in this role will offer suggestions on best practices and ways to advance current office operations.
The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field and 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting is required. Ability to be bonded is strongly preferred. Advanced skills with computers and Microsoft Office are required.
This is a full-time, 35-hour per week position with normal work hours from Monday through Wednesday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Annual salary range of $86,149.96-$106826.20. The Town offers excellent benefits including health and dental plans, participation in the Town’s retirement plan, paid time off, and educational and professional development opportunities.
