Deputy Town Manager | Town of Cornelius, NC
The Town of Cornelius, a thriving lakeside community of 32,632 residents on Lake Norman just north of Charlotte, is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Deputy Town Manager.
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly stable, collaborative leadership team following the retirement of a long-tenured Deputy Town Manager.
The Role:
Partner with the Town Manager to lead operations, support the Mayor and Board, and advance key initiatives including transportation, planning & development, affordable housing, and special projects. This is a highly visible role with broad organizational impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
- 10 years of progressive local government experience
- 5 years must have been in a supervisory leadership role (Manager, Assistant Manager, or Department Head)
- Candidates with Manager/Assistant Manager experience with broad scope is preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hiring range: $150,000 – $192,000, dependent upon qualifications
