The Town of Colchester is seeking a creative, highly-organized professional to join its Recreation team. This position plans, coordinates, and evaluates special events, festivals, community celebrations, and recreational programs, while driving the marketing strategy that gets residents in the door.
Responsibilities include managing event logistics (permits, vendors, entertainment, equipment, staffing, and volunteers), designing promotional materials for print, digital, and social platforms, maintaining consistent branding across all recreation marketing, and building partnerships with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, and sponsors. This role also recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers and event staff, monitors program participation and feedback, and prepares budget recommendations and reports.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration, Parks and Recreation, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field; two or more years of experience in recreation programming, event planning, marketing, or community engagement preferred. CPR/First Aid/AED certification and a valid driver's license required. Evening and weekend availability required for events.
Compensation: $56,076.28 - $60,136.70, DOE
