The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for an Part Time - Athletic Scorekeeper within the Parks and Recreation Department. The Town of Clayton employs more than 340 full-time staff in areas including police, fire, and electric utilities. The Town of Clayton also offers a range of PT positions including positions in Parks & Rec, Library, and Cultural Arts.

The purpose of this position is to perform routine work scorekeeping for youth and adult sports leagues and tournaments.- Keeps score for adult and youth sports leagues, keeping a scorebook and running a scoreboard
- Assists in setting up gyms and fields for league play
- Fills out accident report forms and incident report forms, and ensures the accuracy of reports filled out by other Athletic Aides
- Fills out results forms and playing time sheets
- Serves as site Supervisor when assigned to duties
- Communicates issues and problems to full-time Athletic staff, and emergency personnel
- Enforces Town of Clayton policies
- Provides routine information on departmental policies, procedures, and services
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A normal schedule is associated with this position which involves working 10 - 15 hours per week within a Monday-Saturday timeframe (specific times set by supervisor).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES:
Individual in this position should possess a basic working knowledge of major sports such as baseball, volleyball, softball, and basketball and some knowledge of other sports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town employees and the public; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Some experience in community or group recreation activities in athletics, as an administrator, coach, or scorekeeper preferred. The work in this class is light. An employee must be able to talk, hear, and see. An employee must also be able to move freely in order to visit activity sites and handle the equipment.
