Position Overview
- General laboring work, requiring some skills such as pipe laying, installing water services, replacing valves and, in emergencies, installing water meters and reading water meters
- Will be able to operate a compressor, jack hammer, water pump, repair leaks, dig trenches by hand, tap water mains, drive truck, repair or replace street valves
- Assist in repairing equipment and cleaning of the garage and stockroom
- Be on call for emergencies and will do all work as assigned or required by the Superintendent
- Answers directly to the Water Superintendent. In the absence of the Water Superintendent, will answer directly to the Foreman; in the absence of both the Water Superintendent and the Foreman, will answer directly to the Lead Man
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
- High school diploma, trade school education, or equivalent training and experience.
