What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Parks Operator position at Town of Breckenridge?
Senior Parks Operators are responsible for the maintenance of various types of landscapes, machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe, efficient manner to maintain, analyze, repair, and perform improvements to Town features with a primary focus related to Parks Maintenance. The incumbent will also share in the responsibility for pavement maintenance, snow & ice removal, and drainage maintenance. Additionally, the individual in this role will be responsible for record-keeping duties consisting of safety data sheet information, areas specific daily safety checks, cleaning logs, sledding hill maintenance log and mapping.

- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in grounds maintenance or related construction field to include specific experience pertaining to the job duties listed above.
- This requirement may be waived for internal applicants only.
- Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment background, motor vehicle record, and drug & alcohol screenings.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
- Valid Colorado CDL with Class B and Tanker Endorsement required within 60 days of hire.
- Valid DOT Physical Card required within 30 days of hire.
- Experience in one (1) or more of the following areas highly preferred:
- Heavy equipment experience
- Irrigation
- Athletic field preparation
- Turf maintenance
- Sub-alpine horticulture
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Aesthetics
- Special event support
- Janitorial procedures
- All OSHA, CIRSA, and HAZMAT safety procedures.
Incumbent’s driving record will be reviewed on a regular basis and must be in compliance with organizational standards and policies. Further, incumbents are required to notify the Town, their supervisors and/or manager of any motor vehicle violation (except parking citations) at the time of issuance (immediately upon receipt of the ticket/violation, or upon the next working shift). This requirement exists, regardless of whether the incumbent plans to challenge the violation in court.
Hiring Range: $27.50 - $33.06 per hour, $57,200.00 - $68,764.80 if annualized. WORK SCHEDULE:
Must be able to work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed, up to 40 hours per week. This position may also require overtime at the discretion of management.
