The Town of Boone Department of Public Works is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Technician/Operator. This employee performs intermediate skilled work maintaining and repairing specialized machinery and equipment in a wastewater treatment plant; requires the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
Education & Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or vocational school including or supplemented by courses in the mechanical trade and considerable experience in wastewater treatment plant maintenance work.
Special Requirements: Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina. Possess or the ability to obtain a Grade II Wastewater Operator Certificate issued by the State of North Carolina within one year of employment.
Salary: $53,000 Employee will serve a six-month probation.
