What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at Town of Boone?
The Town of Boone Public Works department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Equipment Operator in the Utilities Division. This employee performs intermediate skilled work operating a variety of motorized equipment in the installation, maintenance and repair of streets, water and sewer lines, service lines, and other public facilities; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. Limited supervision may be exercised over assigned crew members. The job will also require overtime/call back work for snow removal and/or water and sewer repairs.
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in performance of heavy manual work and in the operation of heavy motorized equipment.
Special Requirements: Possession of an appropriate Class A CDL license valid in the State of North Carolina, or the ability to obtain.
Salary: $48,072 Employee will serve a six-month probation. TOB is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
