Town of Bluffton - Volunteer

Volunteers for the Town of Bluffton help assist various town departments and community programs by providing support for events, services, and day-to-day operations. This position is ideal for individuals looking to contribute to their community, gain experience in public service, and support the town’s mission to make our community and organization better.

• Serve as an ambassador for the Town of Bluffton, offering assistance or information to residents and visitors.
• Assist with the setup, operation, and cleanup of town programs or events.
• Provide general information and assistance to residents and visitors.
• Support town staff with basic administrative or organizational tasks.
• Help prepare, organize, or distribute materials for town activities.
• Participate in community outreach and engagement activities.
• Offer support for recreational, educational, or cultural programs.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization in town facilities or outdoor areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support town operations and services.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or current enrollment in high school or equivalent. Previous volunteer or customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Licenses or Certifications:
Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Special Requirements:
Must pass drug screen test.

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work will generally be in an office setting however, some assignments, depending upon department, will include tasks and projects outside; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, using of measuring devices and observing general surroundings and activities; work may have exposure to environmental conditions for outside assignments; work is generally in a light to moderately noisy location (e.g. business office with copy machines, telephones and/or computer printers, light traffic).

Duties are performed primarily in a moderately noisy business office with copy machines, phones, and printers along with some light foot traffic.
