What are the responsibilities and job description for the APPRENTICE LINE TECHNICIAN position at Town Of Blackstone?
The Town of Blackstone is accepting applications for a high school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position. Shall become familiar with and understand the purposes and use of all protective equipment and demonstrate the ability to use such equipment properly. Must have a valid Class B Virginia Commercial Driver’s License or acquire one within six (6) months from date of hire. Must be able to work without supervision and have good communication skills. Must live within or be willing to relocate within thirty (30) minutes legal driving time of Town.
Candidates are required to complete the Lineman Technician Apprenticeship Program. This is an eight-step program. Time allotted for this program is 48 months (4 years), at a step progression of six months per step. Upon successful completion of all eight steps, you will be qualified for line technician status. Candidates that already meet the training requirements and/or experience will be considered for the position at the appropriate level.
The hours of work and compensation for this position are 40 hours per week with the ability to work over-time or on call as needed, with a salary range of $37,440-$62,400.
