SENIOR / ASSISTANT ENGINEER (CIVIL)
The Town of Bethlehem Department of Public Works is seeking candidates for a mid-level Civil Engineer. The title for this position will be determined based on the experience of the candidate. Primary duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
· Manage and administer Town capital projects through design and construction
· Review plans, reports and SWPPPs submitted as part of Planning Board applications
· Review grading plans submitted as part of Building Permit applications and perform grading inspections
· Review grading permit applications and perform associated inspections
· Prepare drawings, specifications and cost estimates for Town capital projects
· Review and oversee the work of a number of engineering consultants
Minimum Experience and Training for Assistant Engineer:
A. A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and three (3) years of field and office experience in civil engineering including, or supplemented by, one (1) year in design of construction projects and one (1) year in construction administration; OR
B. A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) year of experience as defined in A; OR
C. A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Technology and five (5) years of experience as defined in A; OR
D. An Associate’s Degree in Civil Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field and six (6) years of experience as defined in A.
Starting Salary for this position is:
Minimum Experience for Senior Engineer: $77,307
A. A Professional Engineering License with current registration in New York State and four (4) years post Professional Engineering License experience in engineering; OR
B. Twelve (12) years of engineering experience.
Starting Salary for this position is: $85,851

Pay: $77,307.00 - $103,705.00 per year
