Position Overview – Essential Functions
The Recreation Operational Manager for the Town of Bernardston plays a vital role in assessing community needs and developing inclusive recreational programming for youth, adults, and seniors, with guidance from the Recreation Commission. This position involves evaluating program effectiveness, assisting in budget development, and preparing financial reports related to program revenue and expenses. The Manager actively promotes activities through community outreach, the Town website, and approved social media platforms to ensure strong public engagement.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications: Candidates for the Recreation Operations Manager position must be at least 21 years of age and possess prior supervisory experience. A background in elementary or secondary education is highly desirable, along with previous experience working in recreational camp settings or teaching environments. Familiarity with behavior management and working with children who have special needs is strongly preferred. Applicants must hold current CPR and First Aid certifications before the start of camp and have a valid driver's license. Must be able to pass a SORI and CORI background check. Must be available to the community, attend Recreation Commission meetings.

Salary: This is a part-time employee of the Town who is regularly scheduled to work no more than 19 hours per week throughout the year. Regular part-time employees are not entitled to benefits. Salary range: $25.00 to $25.75.
