The Town of Belmont is now accepting applications for the part-time (19 Hours per Week) position of Benefits Assistant. This position reports to the Human Resources Director, and is responsible for assisting in the administration of all Town benefit plans offered to employees and retirees.
Primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to, assisting new hires with benefits orientations and processing of all related benefits paperwork; assisting in the organization of the Town’s Annual Benefit Fairs and Open Enrollments, Town transition to G.I.C. Collaboration with payroll and the Belmont Retirement office to insure proper accounting of benefits deductions, changes, and reconciliations.
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, with three years related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job. Experience with benefits administration required.
The hourly rate range is $25.88 to $31.32. Days and hours to be worked by this position will be discussed as part of the hiring process, and can be flexible. Additional hours may be available during peak periods throughout the year. The position is expected to end June 30, 2027.

Some full-time and some part-time employees will need to complete a pre-employment physical and drug-screening examination. All positions will also require a CORI criminal background screening. The Town reserves the right to modify the application deadline and/or accept applications after the deadline in order to best serve the interest of the community.
After the submission deadline, the Human Resources Department and a review committee will review all completed applications and will select the most highly-qualified respondents for interviews.
