The Barnstable County Dredge Department is accepting applications for
the full-time position of a Maintenance & Repair Tech. This is the
ultimate \"MacGyver\" job. High school education and proven experience
with diesel, gas and outboard engines, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment,
marine electrical systems and welding. Work includes the maintenance and
repair of a wide variety of mechanical equipment used by the department.
From changing oil to replacing fittings to managing spare parts to name
just a few of the job responsibilities. Requirements include: A valid
Driver\'s License, and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
The ability to acquire a hydraulic license (Class 2A) within first year
of employment. Must be able to travel to each project site using
department vehicles on Cape Cod. Must be able to work Saturdays as
needed (with overtime during the dredge season (September through May).
Must be able to tolerate conditions on the water, vibrations, heat,
confined spaces, and high noise levels. Position offers a full benefit
