Summary: Provides exceptional customer service. Performs accounts and administrative clerical work in the billing, collection, and crediting of payments for taxes, sewer user and assessment charges, and related billings or charges and assumes responsibility of the Office of the Collector of Revenue in the absence of the Collector.
Responsibilities
- Provides front-line customer service at the counter, by phone, and through written correspondence.
- Prepares tax bills for real estate, personal property, motor vehicle, sewer user and sewer assessment charges, and supplemental motor vehicle lists throughout the year.
- Receives and cash, credits payment; balances daily collections and prepares reconciliation reports.
- Maintains accurate collection records for real estate, personal property, motor vehicle taxes sewer use and assessment charges.
- Prepares delinquent notices, warrants, and lien notices across all tax categories.
- Collects, verifies, and compiles tax billing and collection data for reporting and auditing purposes.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of increasingly responsible accounts clerical or bookkeeping experience. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
