What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Station Clerk position at Town of Avon?
The Town of Avon seeks qualified candidates for the full-time, AFSCME union position of Station Clerk for the Police Department. The primary function of this position is to provide information and assistance to the public and coordinate responses from appropriate police, fire or other municipal agencies. Using radio equipment, telephone or other means of communication, coordinates requests from first responder personnel for additional support services.
Requirements include a high school diploma/GED, college degree desirable. Must achieve within the first 3 months of employment, or as soon as reasonable, based upon the availability of courses; CJIS certification, radio communications and public safety software training. Work schedule requirement includes rotating or fixed shifts on nights, holidays, and weekends. The position primarily covers the midnight to 8:00 a.m. shift.
This is an AFSCME union position with full-time benefits of 40 hours per week based upon bi-weekly average. This is a ten-step scale with a pay range of $24.13 to $28.84 per hour. The starting salary range is from $24.13 to $25.11. This position will require overtime when necessary.
The prospective employee must successfully complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Records Inquiry) and a physical examination, including a drug test.
