Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team for double weekend shifts, providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. We are currently offering a $2000 sign on bonus for Full Time employee. This role involves working primarily on weekends, with a focus on delivering comprehensive nursing services across various settings, including acute care, long-term care, assisted living, and hospital units. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, including critical care and specialty areas such as dementia and memory care, to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort during weekend coverage.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with physician orders and established protocols, including medication administration, IV infusion, catheterization, and wound care.
- Conduct patient assessments by monitoring vital signs, performing physical examinations, and evaluating symptoms to inform treatment plans.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations and procedures such as laboratory specimen collection, sonography, spinal taps, and cardiac catheterization.
- Manage airway maintenance and ventilator support for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
- Implement infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers to coordinate discharge planning and post-acute care.
- Support patients with complex needs such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health conditions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics like nutrition, medication management, and disease processes.
Qualifications
- Valid LVN license with current state licensure required.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in settings such as ICU, emergency room, medical-surgical units, or long-term care facilities.
- Experience working with diverse populations including, geriatrics patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is preferred; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding essential.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to perform complex procedures such as IV insertion/maintenance, phlebotomy, suturing, and sterile processing techniques.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication abilities.
- Must pass a background check prior to employment.
- Availability to work weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) with flexibility for additional hours if needed.
