What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRODUCE CLERK position at Town & Country Supermarkets?
Produce Clerks are responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise in the produce and plant / floral department, including trimming, watering, and merchandising of products to ensure fresh, high quality offerings. They are responsible for proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability. They answer questions from customers about produce and floral products and help increase sales by handing out food samples and by recommending additional items to customers. They must adhere to strict standards of sanitation, food safety and personal hygiene.
Duties:
Produce department employees receive, stock, store, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise the produce department. Work with wrapping machines, knives, powered and hand jack, cardboard baler, and other duties as assigned. Must be 18 to use powered equipment.
