Duties
- Monitor hospitalized animals overnight, providing attentive care and ensuring their comfort and safety
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and administering treatments
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood draws, sample processing, and diagnostic imaging like X-ray imaging
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, vital signs, and progress notes using veterinary terminology and record-keeping protocols
- Handle animals with gentle expertise, including dog handling, animal husbandry, and pet grooming when necessary
- Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper animal restraint methods
- Manage kennel cleaning, feeding routines, and ensure proper animal husbandry practices are followed at all times
- Stocking and maintaining inventory throughout the hospital
Experience
- Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal care background preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices
- Experience with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory testing is highly desirable
- Familiarity with X-ray operation
- Strong animal handling skills across various species.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining attention to detail
