Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Security Officer to safeguard our premises, assets, and personnel. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through vigilant surveillance, prompt response to incidents, and effective conflict management. Shifts available:
1 FT Sr Officer Shift: 1400-2200 at $17.50/hr (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (1200-2000), and Monday or Tuesday)
1 PT shifts: 1000-1800 or 1200-2000 at $15.39/ hr (Friday, Saturday, or Thursday)
2PT Shift: 0600-1400 (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) and another for Weekends only
Responsibilities
- Monitor the mall and conduct regular patrols to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Walking approximately 5-10k steps per shift.
- Opening/closing of mall entrances and corridors each day.
- Utilizing two way radio effectively to communicate.
- Control access points by verifying identification and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies, including medical incidents or security threats, by administering first aid or CPR when necessary.
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct patrols of the premises to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism and tact, de-escalating disputes effectively.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents requiring external intervention.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security breaches for reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security roles or military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Valid Driver's license (Shuttle Officer)
- Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; additional certifications such as CCTV operation or loss prevention are a plus.
- Ability to handle conflict management situations calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and legal regulations relevant to security operations.
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail during patrols and surveillance activities.
- Physical fitness to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods while maintaining alertness throughout shifts.
