Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to dogs and cats housed in kennels or boarding areas, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Feed, clean, sanitize, and monitor pets throughout their stay
- Assist with baths, brushing, and keeping pets comfortable
- Maintain laundry and help keep the facility clean
- Support veterinarians and technicians as needed
- Help with admitting and releasing pets and greeting clients
- Offer excellent customer service by answering questions from pet owners and providing updates on their pets’ status.
- Assist with pet sitting duties, including feeding, walking, and monitoring animals’ health and behavior.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with larger animals safely.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dog handling, kennel work, or animal care is highly desirable but not required.
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques and dog training methods is a plus.
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience will be valued but is not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely and compassionately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
