Deli Associate – Part-Time (Closers Openers Needed!)
Location: Market Basket | 8014 S Frontage Rd, Billings, MT
Pay: $14–$16/hour (DOE)
Schedule:
- Closers: Weekdays & Weekends
- Openers/Midshifts: Weekends Some Weekday Fill-In
- Weekend Availability Required

We’re not your average deli. At Market Basket, we serve quality comfort food — from Krispy Krunchy chicken to hot pizza, juicy burgers, and made-to-order sandwiches — all with fast, friendly service. We are the first location in Montana with Krispy Krunchy Chicken, so we take pride in good food, a clean environment, and a team that works hard and supports each other.
Who We’re Looking For
We're hiring reliable, energetic, and team-oriented Deli Associates who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Whether you're helping open for the breakfast rush or closing down after a busy dinner service, you'll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly.
Shift Details
We’re currently hiring for two roles:
2 Part-Time Closer
- Weekday Weekend evening availability required
- Typical closing time: 7 PM Mon–Thurs, 9 PM Fri–Sat
1 Part-Time Opener / Midshift
- Weekend mornings/afternoons (start as early as 4–6 AM)
- Occasional weekday fill-in shifts
- Current hours: Mon–Fri 4 AM–7/9 PM, Sat 6 AM–9 PM
- Closed Sundays (for now!)
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve deli items (fried chicken, sandwiches, pizza, etc.)
- Keep deli area clean and organized, including opening or closing duties
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly, can-do attitude
- Restock supplies and maintain kitchen flow
Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation
- Weekend availability is a must
- Able to stand for long periods and lift to 40 lbs
- Previous deli/food experience is great — but we’ll train the right person!
- Team players with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
