What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meat Cutter / Meat Department Manager position at Town and Country Super Market, Inc.?
The Meat Department Head is responsible for managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to company standards. They must follow the company sales and production planning standards and will ensure that the department achieves the standards of performance as outlined in the work plan. They must adhere to strict standards of sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene.
Meat Department employees stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, price and display products. They stock packaged and frozen food products and work with power meat saws, slicers, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives.
Qualifications
- Supervisory Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and handling, particularly in meat cutting.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
- Excellent customer service abilities and kitchen experience.
- Familiarity with food production processes and packaging.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
· Standing, Reaching, Stooping, Kneeling, Bending, Move, Pull, Push, Communicate.
· Frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
· May be exposed to all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, ice and wind) as well as, inside work with variations in heat, cold, dust and humidity.
