What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bike Mechanic position at Town and Country Bike and Boards?
We are looking for a bike Mechanic to help maintain, repair, and build Bicycles. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of various bike components both analog and electronic assisted bikes. Must have great attention to detail, and have a basic knowledge of bike mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Assemble bikes
- Inspect bikes, components, etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance on bikes and equipment
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures for bike maintenance
- Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. sales, communicating with clients, write up work orders, clean workspace etc.)
Skills
- Bike Mechanic experience is wanted (i.e Brake Bleed, Derailleur adjusts, Suspension install)
- Knowledge of bike components
- Aptitude in using various tools
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, etc.
- Great communication skills
- A problem-solving ability
- Sales experience is a plus
- Good physical strength and stamina
- High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
- Certification in various component maintenance programs is a plus (e.g. Shimano T.E.C., SBCU Training).
